This is a Route Map with Altitude Chart for Annapurna Base Camp – Short Trek (11 DAYS), also called Annapurna Base Camp Trekking. Of the eleven-day trip, the route on this map is of the seven days of walk on a trail. Starting from Nayapul (1,100 meters), the trek reaches its highest elevation in the Annapurna Base Camp at 4,130 meters and then returns to Nayapul but via Chomrong on a different trail. Other popular detours or full trips in themselves in this area include the Khayer Lake Trekking and Mardi Himal Trekking.
Kathmandu (1350 meters) - Pokhara (827 meters)
You Annapurna Base Camp Tour starts from Kathmandu. You will first arrive at the only International Airport in Nepal- Tribhuwan International Airport. You will spend a night or two at Kathmandu, enjoy the Nepali-styled modern city.
From Kathmandu, you will either drive (5-6 hours) or fly (30 minutes) to reach Pokhara. Pokhara is the entry spot for the Annapurna region trekking. This land of lakes and scenic beauty will offer you quite a relaxation around the lakeside.
Pokhara (827 meters) - Syauli Bazar/ Kimche Buspark - Kimrung Danda (2100 meters)
From Pokhara, you will proceed to the north-eastern hillocks on a bus ride for around 2 hours to reach the trailhead. On this ride, you will pass through the Nayapul (1100 meters) to Syauli Bazar and then to the Kimche Buspark.
This bus park is your actual trailhead. From there you start trekking to the Ghandruk village and then descend down to Kimrung Danda for the night stay. On this 4-5 hours trek, you will catch the clearest and closest views of Mt. Machhapuchhre and other peaks in the Annapurna region.
Kimrung (2100 meters) - Sinuwa (2320 meters)
After your morning breakfast at Kimrung village, you will leave for the next destination ie Sinuwa village. On this 5-6 hours trek, you will pass through the popular Gurung village of Chhomrong and get to know about the people and their everyday activities.
With the scenic views of the towering snow-covered peaks in front of you along with the side views of the typical household of the Locals, you will have a much amazing time on this days’ trek. Once at Sinuwa, you will find many teahouses to choose for your night stay.
Sinuwa (2320 meters) - Deurali (3230 meters)
As you proceed higher from Sinuwa village you will enter into the area far from the human settlement. You will first walk for about through the lush forests of Rhododendrons and oaks to reach Bamboo village. From Bamboo village, you will walk through lush forests fo Bamboo, cross several rivers and waterfalls to reach Dovan.
After lunch in Dovan, you will proceed from Himalaya village and finally reach the Deurali for an overnight stay. This day’s trek is quite longer than other days. So, you should maintain your pace and proceed carefully. On this day, you will be walking for around 7-8 hours through the exotic and peaceful jungle trails.
Deurali (3230 meters) - ABC (4130 meters)
This is a special day as you will reach your final destination of the trek, Annapurna Base Camp. After morning breakfast, you will leave the Deurali village and the forests of the region. You will enter toward the zero-tree line areas. Walking through the deserted landscape with the uphill climbs through the rocks and boulders you will first reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp at 3700 meters. After some rest and lunch, you will proceed to the Annapurna Base Camp for night stay. As you leave MBC and proceed towards ABC you will feel surrounded by the mountain peaks from all-side. Such bliss! On this day, you will walk for around 4- 5 hours but as you will be on altitude so you have to ascend gradually to avoid from getting sick.
ABC (4130 meters) - Bamboo (2335 meters)
The next morning you will catch the most spectacular sunrise views befalling on Annapurna ranges, Machhapuchhre Himal, Nilgiri Himal, Gangapuran Himal, and other peaks from the Annapurna Base Camp. You will collect the most surreal experience on the lap of Himalayas enjoying the snow and the wind chill. After this pleasurable morning, you will walk back to Machhapuchhre Base Camp.
On descending back, you will walk through Deurali, Himalayan Village, Dovan, and to the teahouse at Bamboo for the overnight stay. On this day, you will most trek downhill for around 7-8 hours.
Bamboo (2335 meters) - Jhinu Danda (1400 meters)
With a warm breakfast at Bamboo, you will start your day. This is a trek of around 5-6 hours. On this day you will first ascend through the stone stairs and walk along the jungle trails to reach to the Sinuwa village. From Sinuwa you first descend to the base of Chhomrong village and ascend through the typical Gurung village and reach the Chhomrong hill. After lunch there, you will descend to Jhinu Danda for the overnight stay.
Jhinu Danda (1400 meters) - Siwai Buspark/ Syauli Bazar- Pokhara (827 meters)
The next day you will go to the Hot water spring in Jhinu Danda. In the spring you get to dive into the lukewarm water and wash away your sweats and lethargy of the trek. After the relaxing bath, you will proceed for the trek of the day. First, you cross the new suspension bridge over Jhinu Khola and then proceed for around 3-4 hours to reach Siwai Buspark or at Syauli Bazar. From the bus park, you will take a bus or jeep to reach Pokhara. In the evening, you can relax at the lakeside.
Pokhara- Kathmandu
This is the final day of the trip. From Pokhara, you will bid farewell to the towering peaks of the Annapurna region. On this day, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, you can do souvenir shopping or take a stroll around the alleyways of Thamel and Basantapur.
