About Gosainkunda Lake pass Trek
Gosainkunda lake pass trek offering both the religious and natural insight is the most favored trekking route of Langtang region. Throughout your trek to Gosainkunda pass-Helambu, you can find the traces of both Hinduism and Buddhism here. Gosainkunda holds a great religious significance to Hindu people as they believe that the lake came into existence as Lord Shiva hurled his Trishul into a mountain to acquire water after he had swallowed the poison. Helambu being eminently altered by the Tibetan culture you can relish the aura of Buddhism here. Alongside religious insight, mountain delight, unblemished surrounding, and exploration of unbound natural beauty are the key attraction of this region. The best time to initiate a hike is mid-autumn where the skies are clear.
Trekking Gosainkunda and Helambu is an ideal vacation once in a lifetime. In Asia, the choices are many and we don’t need to look far because there’s always a call from the wild for those searching for the ultimate quiet and that quest for blissful peace you don’t need to look far, the Langtang Gosainkunda {4336m}, Helambu trek will set the pace for a holiday you hadn’t expected.
Looking north from ancient Kathmandu valley on a bright day, the best time would be in mid-autumn, we can witness the Langtang Mountains and its shimmering snowy peaks in the sunshine, and this is where we head towards for an extraordinary holiday where the picturesque landscapes bring us down to earth as we discover the real world. Our exciting journey begins with a heartwarming scenic drive of nearly 8-9 hours, as we head towards Syabru Bensi which is a major trading place for locals here; and this is where we start hiking in untouched territory for over ten days in Helambu; we take our time to walk through lonely routes and it is a haven for bird lovers; walking the trail while hearing the merry chirping of birds all the way amidst flowery hillocks is something you heart will warm to. Our trip leads us to the glaciers near the towering Langtang Lirung {7246m}, the Annapurna range, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal and other popular peaks around this region. As we cut the wind of Thar danda and move forward we walk into Kyangjin Gompa {3800m} and thus to the holy lakes of Gosainkunda. This is a sacred serene lake mostly crowded by Hindus coming on pilgrimage to this lake. For us, watching this lake will give us inner peace and some willpower to overcome our trials in life.
From hereabouts, we can also see Rolwaling peak and far off Khumbu on the horizons. Our itinerary includes some beautiful rhododendron forests, verdant meadows and warm-friendly ethnic settlements where we can interact with the local folks and get to learn about their lifestyle in this remote area of the world.
