Best time for this trek
Autumn and spring marks for the best time for this trek. During this time the weather is much moderate and favorable with the clearest visibility.
And, you get to walk in the drier routes. You neither have to worry about the rain nor of the leeches during this time of the year.
However, this trek is doable even in the summer and winter.
During summer/monsoon you may find the road slippery and face leech attacks. But with proper rain gears and insect repellents, the trek is not a big problem.
While in winter you may find the hillock slippery due to snow. And feel much cold in the high altitudes. But, with the warm clothing and a happy heart you can easily venture to this trek.
Difficulty during Ghorepani Poon Hill trek
Poon Hill is a short and moderate yet the most exotic treks. Every person with good health can complete this trek in a success.
On this trek, you will be hiking for around 5-6 hours each day on the stony stairs either uphill or the downhill. So, the walk could be a bit challenging for beginners but not impossible.
Hold your trekking poles, buckle your trekking shoes, and wear proper clothes. Then, you will have much easy time venturing to the Poon Hill.
But, during the peak season, you may find the trail crowded. So, you must have a good endurance and patience as you walk with your fellow trekkers.
And, you may face difficulty in finding the accommodations in peak season so, let us know early about your plan. We will help you pre-book for the rooms and food for your comfortable stay.
You will be hiking to the highest altitude at 3210 meters, Poon Hill. But there is the least chance of getting altitude sickness. Yet, do not forget to keep yourself hydrated. After all, your health matters the most.
And, It is a bit cold. So, do not forget to pack wisely for the temperature changes.

- Day 2:Drive to Pokhara.
- Day 3:Drive to Nayapul and trek to Hile.
- Day 4:Trek to Ghorepani.
- Day 5:Hike up to Poon Hill sunrise (3,210m) and trek to Tadapani (2,610 m).
- Day 6:Trek to Ghandruk (1,940m) & Kimche and drive to Pokhara by jeep.
