Detailed Itinerary
Day 01: Drive to Matkyu danda (1500m), and Trek to Jhinu(1760m)
Max. Altitude: Matkyu Danda(1500m), Jhinu Danda (1760m)
Trek Duration: 2-3 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse
Your Annapurna Base camp Trek 6 Days trek begins today. After breakfast, you will take a short jeep drive to reach Matkyu Danda. Matkyu Danda is a newly established Jeep station. This is the starting point of your trek.
Then, you will take a walk of 2-3 hours up to Jhinu danda from Matkyu. The path is short and easy one with greenery, breezy air, and scarce settlements.
Jhinu Danda is a traditional and famous spot for its exotic natural hot springs. A soothing bath in the hot spring is a perfect way to forget all your stress and have a fresh beginning.
Besides, you will also get to explore this beautiful village and surroundings of Modi Khola.
Day 02:Trek to Upper Sinuwa (2400m): 4-5 hours
Max. Altitude: 2400m, Sinuwa
Travel Duration: 4-5 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse
On the second day, you will walk towards another small yet beautiful village called Sinuwa. Leaving Jhinu behind, you will walk through dense sub-tropical forests that have a variety of flora and fauna. If the season is appropriate, you can hear little birds chirping, colorful rhododendrons, and even wild beings.
Mt. Fishtail and Annapurna South start appearing as you climb upwards. On the way also lies some rivers and green fields. The moderate trek of this day will be pleasant as the atmosphere is very rejuvenating.
You may also spot the mini hydroelectric power plants that run teahouses. Though you may not see the Modi Khola flowing alongside. You will hear its sound though.
Walking for 4-5 hours, you will finally reach the charming village of Gurung and Magar settlement, Sinuwa.
Day 03:Trek to Deurali (3230m): 5 - 6 hours
Max. Altitude: 3230m, Deurali
Travel Duration: 5-6 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse
After an early breakfast, you start your journey to the next destination, Deurali. This day of trek might be tough as you will be crossing 3000 meters. At first, you climb up to upper Sinuwa which has dense bamboo forests and green vegetation.
Then, you will cross other villages like Bamboo (2340m), Dovan, and Himalaya (2900m). The scene of beautiful landscapes and mighty mountains keeps you motivated and relieved. After walking for another two hours, you will reach Deurali for your overnight stay.
Deurali is a small village with few guest houses. You will have a little view of mountains like Fishtail from Deurali.
Day 04:Trek to Annapurna Base Camp (4,130m) via Machhapuchhre Base Camp (3700m): 5- 6 hours.
Max. Altitude: 3700m (Machhapuchhre Base Camp), 4130m (Annapurna Base Camp)
Travel Duration: 5-6 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse
Today is the ultimate day of your trek when you will reach the Annapurna Base Camp. This day too will be tough as you reach the vantage altitude of 4130m. You will begin your trek after having breakfast at Deaurali. You will have to brace yourself as you will walk straight uphill.
The atmosphere becomes chilly and the mountains begin to appear clear and closer. Within 2-3 hours of walk, you will reach Machhapuchhre Base Camp. You will have your lunch there.
MBC is the major aspect that will add rejoice during the adventure. You will have a fantastic view of Fishtail that pleases your eyes. If you have an extra day, it is recommended to spend a night here.
Then, you head towards your ultimate spot. Along the way, you get to have the majestic view of Mt. Fishtail (6993m), Hiunchuli (6441m), and Annapurna South (7219m). All the vegetation is covered with glistening snow and mist. The scene is just breathtaking. Pick a spot at the edge of the Annapurna glacier and enjoy the views.
After walking for another 2-3 hours, the range of towering mountains welcome you. You will get a 360 panoramic view of Annapurna range, Hiuchuli, Gangapurna (7455m), Tent Peak (5663m), and much more.
This is an absolute rejoicing day as you get to stay at the base camp for the night stay.
Day 05:Trek to Bamboo: 7 – 8 hours
Max. Altitude: 2340m, Bamboo
Travel Duration: 7-8 hours
Accommodation: Teahouse
This way, you will wake up early in the morning. You surely can’t miss the amazing sunrise through the soaring mountains. Make your cameras ready as you get to capture a lot of beautiful memories with you.
Foremost, the panoramic view of the surrounding mountains looks mesmerizing in the sunlight. You will have the best view of high peaks of the Annapurna Range. They look very beautiful from the top and add charm to your trek.
After exploration, you will have your lunch at the camp and start descending towards Bamboo. On the way, keep an eye out for black-faced ‘Langur’ monkeys.
Day 06: Trek down to Matkyu danda (1500m) and drive back to Pokhara
Max. Altitude: Pokhara (910m), Matkyu Danda (1500m)
Trek Duration: 2-3 hours
Accommodation: Hotel
Retracing your steps, you will descend to Matkyu Danda. You can enjoy your final downhill trail through the forest, terraced fields, high hills, and small villages.
From the jeep station, you will drive back to Pokhara and transfer to the hotel. You can relax there and are free to visit different places. Pokhara, ‘city of lakes’, is a famous tourist hub of Nepal. There are many amazing spots like Peace Pagoda, Mahendra Cave, Lakeside, etc. You just can’t miss them!
And after a hectic day, you can enjoy your evening is a good pub or restaurant. You have a variety of options to choose from. There is no better place than Pokhara to celebrate the victory of your trek.
Best Time for the ABC Trek

6 Days Annapurna Base Camp Difficulty Level
In spite of all the exciting highlights, the journey to the base of world’s 10th highest peak is not as easy as it may sound. The trek may be of moderate grade but there are lots of twists and turns, highs, and lows. And the hurdles add up when as you continue your trek.
Primarily, there might be difficulty walking distance and duration of the trek. The net trekking distance of ABC is about 115 km that you’ll cover within 6 days. Thus, you will be walking in rugged trails for 6-7 hours covering 10-20 km every day.
Another major problem is increasing altitude and chance of getting Altitude Mountain Sickness (AMS). As the highest elevation is 4130 meters, the atmosphere gets thinner and more challenging. Eventually, the weather is very unpredictable. Depending upon the seasons, they might keep on changing drastically.
Other basic difficulties can be with adaptation with basic facilities like accommodation, food and drinks, and budget management.

It is recommendable to carry a small pack containing all the necessary goods for everyday use. Carrying big bags weighing more than 6-7 kg will only add you an extra burden. Thus, you should be precise and smart while packing. Hiking Backpack could be of 45 Liters and above.
Following list of things that you need to check for a smart and precise backpack for ABC trek :
Regarding clothing, you will need a Lightweight hiking shirt, Hiking Pants/ Trousers, Thermals, Trekking shoes, Hiking sandals, Windbreaker, Lightweight down jacket, Winter Gloves, Hiking socks
