Jomsom Muktinath Trek Route

Your Jomsom Muktinath trek 7 days tour begins as you leave the beautiful city of Kathmandu and head towards Pokhara. Traveling to Pokhara will be a scenic drive through Prithivi Highway. Arriving Pokhara you stay there for the night.

The next day, you catch an early flight to Jomsom which is one of the main highlights of your trek. Your trekking journey begins as you head towards Kagbeni from here. Viewing scenic views you reach there and stay the night.

Following day you head towards Muktinath Temple, a holy ground for Hindu and Buddhist religion. Reaching there you can explore the area. You will be waking up early and visiting the temple.

After that, you trek down towards Marpha through off-beaten routes. Reaching there you stay the night. And head towards Tatopani the next day via Ghasa. Reaching there you stay the night.

From there you drive till Beni and again Drive back to Pokhara. Roam Pokhara and call it a night there. You then drive back to Kathmandu retracing your way.

Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara

Today is your first day of Jomsom Muktinath Trek 7 days. You begin by driving out the noisy capital city and heading towards Pokhara this day. You will be driving through the Prithvi highway to reach your destination.

As you leave the city behind you travel through paved roads surrounded by lush green hills. Traveling beside the Trishuli river you pass many small settlements and towns along the way. Seeing scenic views you reach Pokhara.

Pokhara is a famous tourist hub and the gateway for various famous trekking routes. To trek in the Annapurna region, you will have to visit Pokhara. This is a beautiful city with numerous lakes. Thus this city is known as “City of Lakes.”

You can roam around the lakeside or explore the city. You stay in one of the hotels for tonight.

Day 2: Fly from Pokhara to Jomsom Then Trek to Kagbeni

Today you wake up early and get ready to catch your flight to Jomsom. It is about a half an hour flight towards the headquarters of Mustang. You will be flying above the Kali Gandaki river which is the deepest gorge of the world. As you look out your window, you can see the magnificent peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri.

Viewing these scenes you land in Jomsom. From here your trekking journey begins. You head towards Kagbeni from here. Your trek begins as you walk along the Kali Gandaki river. Walking for some hours you reach Ekle Bhatti, a beautiful village on the banks of the river. This place gives the mesmerizing view of Nilgiri Himal. Viewing this you walk ahead in your path and reach Kagbeni.

Kagbeni is a beautiful village that lies on the trails between Jomsom and Muktinath. You stay here for the night.

Day 3: Trek from Kagbeni to Muktinath

Trek Duration: 5 to 6 hours

Trek Distance: 12.4 km

Maximum Altitude: 3710 m above sea level

Today you will be trekking to Muktinath from Kagbeni. After a healthy breakfast, you begin your journey by heading out of the village. As you continue your walk you reach Khingar then walking for some time you reach Jharkot.

This day you will have walked past many small settlements viewing scenic views along the trails. Walking for a few hours you reach Muktinath.

Muktinath is a major tourist destination of the Mustang district. This temple attracts many Hindu and Buddhist followers to visit this place every year. You can explore around here.

Stay here for the night.

Day 4: Trek from Muktinath to Marpha

Today you wake up early and visit the Muktinath temple. This is a holy shrine for Vishnu God. You can see a small pond and 108 water taps around this temple. People say if you cleanse your body in this water your soul will be purified. So you can try it.

After touring a bit you begin your journey to Marpha. You will be making downhill climb waking pass fields and groves in the Kali Gandaki valley. Viewing mountain peaks and dry landscapes you reach Marpha.

Marpha is a beautiful village that is home to the famous apple brandy. You can see apple orchards around the valley. If you want you can try some or buy it as a souvenir.

You stay here for the night.

Day 5: Drive from Marpha to Tatopani

Trek Duration: 7 to 8 hour

Maximum Altitude: 1190 m above sea level

Today you will be heading towards Tatopani from Marpha. Waking up early you will catch your bus from Marpha to Ghasa. Then from there you will take a jeep towards Tatopani from there. Traveling through a vehicle saves two days of walking off your schedule.

Tatopani is a popular natural hot spring. You can bath and relax your body from all the walk stress. This is your last day in this region so rejoice the moments. You stay here for the night.

Day 6: Drive from Tatopani to Beni then Drive to Pokhara

Trek Duration: 5 to 6 hours

Drive Duration: 3 hours

Maximum Altitude(Beni): 820 m above sea level

Today you will be heading towards Beni from where you drive back to Pokhara. Waking up early you follow the trails out the village and enter a lush green forest. Then as you move ahead in the trails you make a slight descend. And following the routes you reach Beni.

From Beni you catch your ride back to Pokhara via Baglung Highway. Seeing scenic views you reach your destination. Arriving Pokhara you will be dropped off at your Hotel. The rest of the time is unplanned so you can visit attraction sites.

You stay here for the night.

Day 7: Drive back to Kathmandu

Trek Duration: 6 to 7 hours

Trek Distance: 200 km

Maximum Altitude: 1400 m above sea level

Today you wake up early and leave the city of Pokhara. You will drive back to Kathmandu this day. Retracing your way you reach Kathmandu with great memories of this trek.
