About Everest Base Camp

3 day Everest Base Camp Trek Routes
This is a short day trek for trekkers looking forward to visiting the Base of Mount Everest. Here is a summary of 3 day Everest Base Camp Trek Routes:
You begin your journey towards the great Himalayas by flying to Namche bazaar from Kathmandu in Helicopter. After a scenic ride, you reach Namche and explore around the town. You will be staying in one of the lodges for the night.
Then you trek to Everest View hotel the next day via Khumjung village. You get to see the beautiful monastery while passing through Khumjung village. Reaching Everest View Hotel you explore around the area and return back to Namche Bazaar.
From there you fly towards Kala Patthar in Helicopter the next day. This day you will be visiting the main attraction of this trip, Everest Base Camp. After exploring around you ride the helicopter back to Kathmandu.

The country of Nepal has four seasons you can choose from to visit the Everest Base Camp. Spring, Monsoon, Autumn, and Winter are the seasons that happen in Nepal.

Autumn Season

The weather is nice during these months. The skies are clear giving the best view of your surroundings. As for temperature, it tends to drop below the freezing point. The days are warm and sunny but night and morning are very cold. So carry warm clothes during these months.
3 day Trek to Everest Base Camp Itinerary
Day 1: Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar By Helicopter- Explore Namche Bazaar

Flight distance: 137 km
Maximum Altitude: 3440 m above sea level
This is the first day of your trip. You begin your 3 days trek to Everest Base Camp by flying towards Namche Bazaar.
You will wake up fast this morning as you have to catch an early flight to Namche Bazaar. Your representative along with the guide will pick you up from your hotel and drop you off at the airport.
After dropping you off you will board your helicopter from there. Buckle your seat belt and get ready for an amazing ride in the sky. As you soar into the sky you can see beautiful scenarios out the window.
You get to see the mesmerizing peaks and lush green valleys on this flight. Viewing them you arrive at Namche Bazaar. The rest of the day is unplanned so you can explore the town or rest for the day.
Namche Bazaar is a beautiful town in the Solukhumbu district. It is the gateway to Mount Everest. This is the main trading hub of the Khumbu region. People of the Khumbu region visit this town to buy and sell goods.
This town is quite developed as it has various western products and services. You can visit cafes and restaurants residing in this town. Or you can roam around the town visiting places.
You will stay here in one of the lodges for the night.
Day 2: Trek to Everest View Hotel via Khumjung Village and back to Namche Bazaar

Maximum Altitude (Khumjung Village): 3780 m above sea level
After a peaceful night, you will wake up early this day. As you will be trekking towards Everest View Hotel via Khumjung Village. Today is the second day of your trek.
Waking up early you get out the town and ascend in the trails. This day’s destination is about a few hour’s walks from Namche Bazaar. While ascending the trails you will pass through Khumjung Village.
Khumjung is one of the largest villages of Sherpa settlement. This village is popular for its Khumjung monastery and Khumjung Hillary school. The monastery is famous for displaying the skull of yeti.
Viewing and exploring them you ascend in the trails till you reach Everest View Hotel. This hotel is the highest placed hotel in the world at 13000 ft. you get to see the panoramic view of Mount Everest from here. You can also get the view of mountains from here.
This hotel is built in a ridge that overlooks the Everest range. You can enjoy the view of Mount Everest while sipping your coffee from this hotel. After spending some time there you head back to Namche Bazaar retracing your steps.
Day 3: Helicopter Ride to Kala Patthar via Everest Base Camp and Return to Kathmandu

Today is the last day of your 3 days trek to Everest Base Camp. This day is quite memorable as you will be visiting the highlights of this tour. You will be heading towards Kala Patthar via Everest Base Camp in a helicopter.
After having your breakfast, you will catch your ride towards your destination. Flying over the Khumbu region you first make your land in Everest Base Camp. Landing in the foot of the world’s highest mountain is an overwhelming feeling.
Snapping some pictures you again board your helicopter ride to Kala Patthar. You won’t be spending much time in these places as you might suffer Acute Mountain Sickness.
Reaching Kala Patthar you get the close-up view of Mount Everest. The world’s highest mountain looks mesmerizing from this point. Astounded by the view you are spending some time there.
Then you head back to Kathmandu with great memories of the trip. Arriving at Kathmandu we bid each other farewell.
